Job Description
The position will be based in Kampala with frequent travel within the region.
Position: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY OFFICER
Job Code (USUL/HR/IT 07/13)
Reporting to the Country Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following amongst others:
•Manage and maintain the Company’s IT infrastructure
•Provide first hand user support
•Liaise with external IT consultants in provision of second level IT support
•Create and maintain the Company’s knowledge repository and database to guarantee effective methods of storing and managing information corporate knowledge assets
•Develop and implement policies and procedures of , .electronic data processing
•Install work stations and set up hardware
•Maintain current and accurate inventory of hardware, software and resources
•Assist in the Customer Relationship Management function
•Monitor compliance with the Company’s Policies and Procedures covering network access, internet, email usage, IT tools of trade etc.
Requirement:
•University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science.
•Certification in MS Windows Administration and SQL Database.
•Possess good understanding of the Lawson ERP system and Storeline POS system.
•Excellent communication and analytical skills.
•Good decision making skills.
•Proven leadership capability.
•Customer service skills.
•At least 5 years relevant working experience in a commercial environment with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
