Reports to: PRODUCTION MANAGER
Job Purpose: To oversee maintenance of the press and auxiliary equipment in the plant, install and commission new equipment and liaise with service level providers.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure general maintenance and repair of press and equipment is carried out as per schedule.
- Develops and execute preventative maintenance plans for the company press and auxiliary equipment
- Management of maintenance staff. Participates in performance reviews capacity gap analysis and formal staff development initiatives
- Works with the pre-press, press and engineering teams to resolve maintenance issues in a timely manner with minimal interruption to factory output.
- Oversees the implementation of CAPEX engineering projects.
- Uphold Safety, Health, Environment and Quality requirements and standards.
- Oversee effective use of a variety of hand and power tools, cranes and forklifts.
- Keep maintenance records for all company equipment.
- Assist with employee training as regards to press and auxiliary equipment operation and good practice.
- Liaises with outside contractors for value for money service provision and adherence to established Health and safety guidelines
Requirement:
- Basic university degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution
- Engineer registration board certificate
- At least 5 years working experience in an engineering supervisory role
- A strong appreciation of printing and publications business
- Very strong drive for results
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to follow through and close issues
- Willing to work long hours
- Planning and organization skills
- Ability to get results through the team
- Coaching skills
