Construction Supervisor

We are an Ecumenical Christian NGO running programs and projects that seek to eliminate poverty housing in Uganda. We are inviting applications from potential candidates to fill the following position of Construction Supervisor in our organization.
Job Summary:
The Construction Supervisor will oversee all aspects of Construction at the Habitat for Humanity Uganda’s project sites, including preparing drawings and Bills of Quantity (BOQ), supervising contractors to build houses for vulnerable and low income families, developing construction budgets and overseeing inventory
Summary of Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that Contractors produce quality construction works as specified in the contract documents.
  • Prepare certificates at various stages of construction for processing payments at the National Office.
  • Guide and ensure that selected beneficiary families have collected the required materials and are kept free of any contamination.
  • Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly construction reports.
  • Develop construction work documents specific to the local areas i.e Construction drawings, BOQ and specifications for the selected house designs.
  • Ensure that building materials used in the construction of houses are of the organization’s recommended standards.
  • Carry out programmed monitoring and inspection visits to construction sites to give technical support to contractors.
  • Carryout material and cost surveys in the local areas.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by her/ his Supervisor.

Requirement:

  • Minimum of a Higher Diploma in Building & Civil Engineering or it's equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Literacy in computer skills and CAD programs i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, AutoCAD e.t.c
  • Hold a valid motorcycle riders permit.
  • At least a Three (3) year experience in construction management with a reputable organization, preferably an NGO.
